RORC Caribbean 600 in 2025

Time&Place: 16th to 22nd of February 2025 Antigua

In 2025 we have added the RORC Caribbean 600 race to our pallet of sail races for the season. It is a race that has grown in popularity along the years and is often associated with The Fastnet or Sidney Hobart races. We do know why. It has the appeal of a longer offshore race and the settings in the Caribbean could not be better. Rounding 11 islands not only makes the race course highly challenging but presents an interesting, ever changing, scenery during race.

This is a race we recommend for someone already in to sail racing. We don’t take passengers or “rail meat” on this trip – it is as involving as any day out with a racing crew. We organize a two day training for everyone to get used to the ropes and boat specifics.

If you are doing the Caribbean 600 you automatically qualify in our Fastnet crew in summer of 2025.

Don’t hesitate to get in contact for more details. We are still open for a “whole boat” option, if you have a crew with the appetite for an exclusive.

We like to do things “organically” involving crew in decision making as provisioning etc. When we got the crew together we create a discussion plattform where we can discuss matters and maybe even get some things decided well in advance to save time on location.

Itinerary in 2025
16 – 17th February: two Training Days, Safety Briefing and stocking up

On the 15th in the morning at 11.00 we will meet up at the boat with an introduction and safety briefing. Our aim is to head out in the afternoon for first training session. Later in the evening there is a welcoming party.

Next day is a full out training day + provisioning for the race.

18th Feb Race Start

10.50: first warning signal and race start. The start line is taken from Fort Charlotte and the race will get us past 11 Caribbean Islands.

19th – 22nd Racing & Race Finnish

We are looking at a full out four days of racing (depending on weather) under ocean conditions, negotiating a highly tactical race course, an ongoing watch system. The mild nights, hot tropical days, stunning island scenery and exotic surroundings complete the picture of the race.
